Insomnia - Reasons and Solutions

About Insomnia

Insomnia is characterized by an inability to sleep and/or inability to remain asleep for a reasonable period. Insomniacs typically complain of being unable to close their eyes or "rest their mind" for more than a few minutes at a time. Both organic and nonorganic insomnia constitute a sleep disorder. Finding the underlying cause of insomnia is usually necessary to cure it.

Insomnia from a Mickel Therapy perspective

Although to most people sleep disorders seem to occur 'for no apparent reason', there is nothing random about not sleeping well. And despite the amusing cartoon below, there is nothing funny about not getting a good night's sleep. Good sleep is essential for feeling mentally alert, emotionally happy, being able to cope with life and in order for the body to rest, heal and recuperate. GOOD SLEEP IS ESSENTIAL.

From a Mickel Therapy perspective, symptoms of insomnia indicate that the body-mind is not happy with something (or -things) in one's life. Like many symptoms sent by the body, the insomnia is the end-result of underlying causes which have not yet been identified.

The state of insomnia will also indicate the body is in a stressed state known as the 'sympathetic response' of the nervous system. Another way to describe this state is the 'fight-flight' syndrome, a state of emergency or red alert inside the body. This state persists despite the fact that there is no 'real' danger (eg, a fire).

The Mickel Therapy tools will allow you to discover the underlying causes for this state of 'dis-ease' and your difficulty sleeping, so that your body can relax enough to sleep well.
